Why the military? Just why?
Hello there!
My name is Kimberly, I am a hispanic and Citizen girl of 18 years of age.
I will take you in my journey of becoming the next Soldier of the U.S. Army/National Guard. Now as simple as it sounds to join the Army, it's not. I dropped out of high school my freshmen year. I'll do a whole seperate blog post about that, since my story is pretty long.
I have my GED which in case you don't know what a GED stands for it is General Education Diploma. Which counts just as a High School Diploma. Questions about this? Email me.
Anyway. I really didn't ever want to join the Army in fact I didn't even think it was for women as well as for men but just the fact that there aren't many women serving our country just made me want to go ahead and inform myself about it.
EMBARRASSED AT THE RECRUITER'S....
I went in to the recruiter's office which is not even close to my own house. About an hour in car and two hours in bus. By which I have to clarify that I do not own a vehicle, my sister Idaly who is a year older than me, gives me rides or I have to take the bus and around here it's quite an experience. Well that day my sister did not bring her car because she just didn't want to. I asked to come with me, just to find out more about the Army and so I won't get intimaded by any ways.
